A Fortune 500 organization was in search of a more structured approach to IT portfolio selection and management.
Solution:
OnPoint Consulting was hired to deploy an enterprise portfolio management tool and provide a more rigorous methodology to help govern the process.
Typically these engagements initiate with a formal executive workshop where business drivers, constraints, and organization hierarchies can be well defined and documented. In this case, however, executive time was very limited, forcing our team to take an alternative approach. In this case, our team created executive workbooks designed to capture the requisite variables for the system’s configuration.
Result:
Through a combination of self-guided and individual, consultant-lead sessions, OnPoint Consulting was able to deploy and configure an Enterprise Portfolio Management system on time and within budget in spite of some unforeseen challenges posed by a lack of executive access.
